The author, Kathy Balland, sent me her book, Lose the Diet.  Kathy is a board-certified clinical hypnotherapist whose main message is that you can lose weight by discovering the "power within yourself to be diet free–once and for all!"  She writes about how you can "transform your body by connecting with your soul."
